Inver Hills Community College is dedicated to their college wide learning outcomes. Civic Engagement is one of those outcomes. In the Fall of 2010 a team was developed to work on defining Civic Engagement for the college and create assessment and implementation tools. Sally Dahlquist, Sarah Napoli-Rangel, Steve Hartlaub and Shane Stroup came together as a staff/faculty team to do just this. The team looked at the history of Civic Engagement at the College, produced several documents to take back to the larger committee and in Feb 2011 attended the Campus Compact Civic Engagement Workshop to gain more skills. Currently the team is dedicated to completing a working definition and will begin to implement the new outcome in the Fall of 2011. The team works tirelessly without any extra incentives other than a commitment to civic engagement.
